Roman Herpetological Association
On september 21st 2005 A.R.Er. (Roman Herpetological
Association) has been founded in order to fullfill the
need of the Italian herpetological community to cooperate
in a more organized and organical way.
The registered Association has been settled in the
city of Rome but everyone, Italian and foreign people,
are warmly welcome to become member to support our operate
and realize our missions. In order to do that, we decided
to let the membership be completely free of cost. We
want to make clear that we are a no-profit Association
without any commercial purpose.
We firmly believe that internet is one of the best
opportunities to let the people interact, that's the
reason why our website has been published just few days
after the Association was born. Through the website
our members will have the possibilty to be informed
about all the developments. Everybody is invited to
cooperate and give us constructive comments and new
ideas.
The Association endeavours to cater for all levels
of interest in herpetology, from the school pupil who
finds that lizards and frogs make interesting pets,
to people engaged in serious scientific studies or captive
breeding programs.
Only with your interest and help A.R.Er. will grow
up. With the current difficulties the reptile's world
is experiencing, thanks to your support and cooperation
we hope to ensure a future to our passion.
A.R.Er. is devoted to fulfil several and various needs
of members and not: those interested in conservation
of native reptile and amphibian species; those wishing
to buy and/or sell captive-bred specimens and those
who want to enhance their general knowledge and acquaintance
with herpetology and herpetoculture.
A.R.Er. promotes conservation of all species of herps,
with a special interest for Italian herpetofauna. Furthermore,
the Association maintains a large library of reptiles
and amphibians related books and pubblications.
If you have any question please do not hesitate to
contact the Association.
Thanks a lot for your interest and we hope you will
join us!
